SUNSHINE MOUNTAIN LODGE, Banff

Sunshine Mountain Lodge has rooms ranging from cozy rooms to suites for families. The West Wing Loft Rooms feature Lookout Mountain views, in-floor heating, natural gas fireplaces, and flat-screen televisions. The upper loft has a king-sized bed, a private bath, and a flat-screen television. The main floor includes a bathroom with a jetted tub, a queen bed, and a queen-sized Murphy bed. West Wing Premier Rooms offer in-floor heating, natural gas fireplaces, flat-screen televisions, a queen bed, a queen-sized Murphy bed, mountain views, and a ground floor patio. Main Lodge Suites feature king-sized beds, fireplaces, private balconies, and bathrooms. Deluxe Balcony Rooms have slope-side balconies, a queen-sized bed, a single trundle bed, and flat-screen TVs. Bathrooms include slate floors and granite countertops. Deluxe Waterfall Rooms are in the main lodge and face the Waterfall run. They have queen-sized beds, single trundle beds, slate floors, and granite countertops.

The Eagle's Nest restaurant features Canadian cuisine and a lodge-inspired space with fires and mountain views at the Lookout Lounge. The Alpine has pizza, pasta, pho, burritos, and grilled items like burgers, chicken fingers, salads, and fries.

Guests can ride the Standish Chairlift to over 2,400 m for sightseeing in the Banff and Lake Louise area. The Standish Viewing Deck offers views of Laryx, Grizzly, and Rock Isle lakes. The lodge has Banff's largest outdoor hot tub and a cedar-lined dry sauna. A fitness room includes a treadmill, elliptical machine, bicycle, rowing machine, and yoga mats. Spa treatments, including hot stone massage and reflexology, are available.

Sunshine Mountain Lodge is in Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a 15-minute drive from the town of Banff. Calgary International Airport is 90 minutes away. The Banff Airporter provides transfers from the Calgary Airport to Banff and Canmore. The Sunshine Coach offers transport from Calgary and Canmore to Sunshine Village. A free Sunshine shuttle operates between Banff and Sunshine Village. During the summer, hotel shuttles run nightly from 6 pm to 11 pm. Preferred hotel guest parking is available at Creekside Lodge.

The hotel offers luggage transfers and ski storage. A complimentary equipment locker on the ground floor of the West Wing has space for equipment and a boot drying rack. Families can enjoy a family room and an activity room with a pool table, Wii console, and a flat-screen TV. On Friday nights, a shuttle bus is available to take guests to Banff for the evening, with a 10 p.m. return gondola. Tobogganing is available on select evenings.
